2009
BECOME
A COLTS CHEERLEADER
They are
there every home game, cheering on their favorite team. They actively
participate in charity functions, conventions, fairs, and tradeshows.
They donate their time to many charitable and civic causes every year.
They are
the Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders.
Now is
your chance to be a member of the group that performs before 63,000
fans at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Becoming
a Colts cheerleader will be one of the most rewarding experiences a
young lady can have, said Director of Marketing, Chuck OHara.
It
will change their lives forever.
Auditions
for the 2009 squad will be held May 9th, 2009. Register now.
Were
looking for beautiful, fit dancers, said Theresa Pottratz,
Cheerleader Coordinator. Maturity and poise also make up the
final package.
Prior to
the audition date the Colts will be hosting several workshops open to
participants. Classes will be held
March 10,
March 17,
March 24,
April 2,
and May 5
from 6:30-8:30pm
and will
cost $30/class.
The
best way to prepare is to come to the audition workshops,
added Pottratz.
In
the workshops we give you all the hints you need to get ready from
routines and kick-line to tips on how to dress and what to wear.
Curtain
Call Studio for Performing Arts, the official dance studio of the
Indianapolis Colts cheerleaders, will be offering professional jazz
classes to audition participants. Each class will focus on skill
development, combos to emphasize jazz, pom and kick technique, free
style, and flexibility. Click here for more information.
When the
first day of auditions arrives on May 9th, participants can expect a
very long, but very exciting day.
There
will be a lot of craziness, said Pottratz. They
can expect to dance, introduce themselves to the judges, make new
friends, and have a good time.
We
want it to be a good experience even for the girls that get cut.
The May
9th auditions are only the first step on the road to becoming a Colts
cheerleader. Once participants make it through the two rounds of cuts
held that day the next two weeks will contain twice-a-week practices.
Continuing cuts will be made to the remaining participants.
Audition
will conclude May 27th with the final runway show and announcement of
the 2009 squad.
The 2009
squad can look forward to a year a hard work, with practices twice a
week starting in May and lasting throughout the season, but also a
lot of fun.
They
will have the opportunity to do a lot of appearances,
Pottratz added. Hopefully we will have more travel
experiences for them as well, like the trip we are taking in April.
We
ask our Cheerleaders to do a lot in the community. They very much
are the face of the franchise, said OHara.
We
are very proud of all our ladies who are the Sweet Hearts of the Horseshoe.
